The Warrick County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit currently consist of two highly trained K9's (German Shepherds) and their handlers. Our K9's are considered Dual Purpose, meaning that they are trained in both Patrol and Narcotics work. Our K9's are certified annually through the United States Police Canine Association.
The K9 Unit provides an invaluable service to our community and our officers. The K9's help detect narcotics to prevent them from being distributed into our community. The K9's also are used to locate and apprehend violent criminals, helping to make our communities safer. While preforming these tasks, the K9's also help make the job of the officers much safer.
The K9 Unit frequently performs public demonstrations at events (such as National Night Out), for groups, for organizations and for schools.
The Sheriff's Office K9 Unit is supported through the generosity of individuals and businesses. Without the donations we receive we would not be able to provide the services of these amazing K9's to our community.
Donations are always accepted and greatly appreciated. If you have any questions about the K9 Unit, or would like to make a donation, please feel free to contact the Sheriff's Office.
